ElRecall is built with privacy as a core principle. Your screen history and personal data remain yours and yours alone. ElRecall works entirely on your device without sending your data to external servers.
100% Local-First
All your data stays on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded to external servers.
What Stays on Your Device
The following data is stored exclusively on your Mac and never leaves your device:
- Screen captures and extracted text
- Meeting recordings and transcripts
- Your search history within the app
What We Collect
For premium license management only, we collect minimal information:
- Your license key for activation
- A device identifier for license management
- Your email address if you contact support or make a purchase
Third-Party Services
We use LemonSqueezy to process premium subscriptions. When you upgrade to Premium, LemonSqueezy handles the payment. See LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy for details.
This website uses Google Analytics to understand traffic. No analytics are collected from within the ElRecall app itself.
Your Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Pause or stop recording anytime from the menu bar
- Delete all your data from Settings
- Uninstall the app and remove your data folder to delete everything
Data Retention
Free accounts automatically delete data after 7 days. Premium accounts can choose their retention period or keep data indefinitely. You can manually delete all data anytime from Settings.
Children's Privacy
ElRecall is not intended for use by children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when it was last revised.
